Fuel City, aka “The Ranch in downtown Dallas,” will soon add a second location of the popular travel center in Lufkin, TX.  Fuel City is expected to open by January 1, 2013.  Three times the size of the Dallas location, it will provide more than one hundred and fifty jobs to the area.

Open 24/7, Fuel City Lufkin amenities are to include homemade tacos, a Denny’s, The Original Fried Pie Shop, truck parking, showers and clean bathrooms, twenty gas fuel positions, seven diesel fuel positions, and more.  Fuel City tacos were named “Best Tacos in Texas” by Texas Monthly and have been recognized nationally by The Wall Street Journal and Chicago Tribune.

“We are so excited to be expanding into East Texas and Lufkin,” says John Benda, proprietor of both Fuel City locations.  “Located on the Southeast corner of the Highway 59/69 intersection, the property was an obvious choice for our second location.  We are looking forward to being a part of the Lufkin community.”

Fuel City Dallas is located on 8 acres in the heart of downtown Dallas on the banks of the Trinity River at the I-30/I-35 intersection, and is one of the most popular travel centers in Texas.  Not just a gas station and convenience store, it boasts a state-of-the-art car wash, features award-winning tacos, elotes (cups of Mexican-style corn), 5 of Texas’ largest Longhorns, a swimming pool, oil derek, windmill, drive-thru beer barn, live karaoke, and native Texas trees and cactus. Fuel City Dallas is located at 801 South Riverfront Boulevard.
